The Department of Medical Social Work, through its activities ensures rapid and complete treatment, minimize hospital stay, adds socially, mentally physically. The MSW department procures donations to enable the hospital to meet out costly medical treatment to patients who cannot afford the same. Counseling is done for varied psychosocial and emotional problems precipitated due to medical situation to bring about change in behavior. This help is extended to family as well. Due to efforts of this department handicapped patients are returned to community as useful individuals rather than dependents. It networks with the resources and services in the community to aid in patient care. Evaluation and recommendation of patient for varied assistance both within the hospital and the community at large is also taken up. The Community Development Officer’s assists other department for varied requirement in patient care through fund raising.
